    The use of LED lighting is in line with the development trend of energy saving. Low carbon, energy saving and environmental protection have attracted people's attention. The LED is a light-emitting diode, it is not an energy-saving lamp or a fluorescent tube, but its brightness is 5-6 times then an ordinary lamp. Because of this, LED lighting has gradually replaced ordinary lighting.

    According to the EU regulations, starting from September 1, 2009, all supermarkets are not allowed to sell incandescent bulbs, nor can they sell high-voltage fluorescent bulbs, only LED lamps. So, how will China develop next? Is it still vigorously promoting energy-saving lamps, or is it actively developing LED lighting? To be honest, energy-saving lamps are not energy-efficient compared with LEDs, and a large amount of mercury is used in the manufacturing process of energy-saving lamps. It is well known that mercury has a great impact on the human body and the environment, especially when scrapping energy-saving lamps, the environment will cause serious pollution if not handled properly.

    The energy-saving effect of LED lighting is very obvious. According to relevant information, if China's LED lighting can account for 1/3 of the entire lighting market, then we can save generating capacity of two Yangtze Three Gorges hydroelectric power stations every year.

    At present, all countries in the world attach great importance to the development and utilization of LEDs. NEC has developed and marketed a new type of LED bulb, which is similar in shape to the current incandescent bulbs and is rapidly spreading to ordinary households. AT&S, Austria, a world-renowned printed circuit board manufacturer, has developed PCB for LEDs and intends to use this type of printed circuit board as a pillar in the future. Matsushita Electric has developed CEM-3 CCL for high heat dissipation performance for LEDs two to three years ago and has been shown on "CPCA SHOW". The commonly used LED lighting PCB material is aluminum-based, which not only has good heat dissipation effect, but also is inexpensive.

    Not long ago, the Korean government was implementing a plan to replace street lights with LED lighting. KPCA, the Korean electronic circuit industry association, has taken the lead in standardizing printed circuit boards for LEDs in the world, and established a working group for PCB of LEDs. It is working hard to develop this standard and promote the standardization of printed circuit boards for LEDs.

    The Japan Electronic Circuit Industry Association (JPCA) recently released the "JPCA-TMC-LED01S High-Brightness LED Electronic Circuit Board Standard" and the "JPCA-TMC-LED02T High-Brightness LED Electronic Circuit Board Test Method".

    Printed circuit boards for LEDs are not just PCBs with aluminum-based copper clad laminates(CCL), but for different applications, some use general FR-4, CEM-3, flexible polyimide boards, and some use high heat conduction resin substrate, ceramic substrate and so on.

    We have always stressed the adjustment of product structure, LED energy-saving characteristics, will inevitably become a very important industry in China and even the world. LED lighting has a wide range of uses and a huge market, which will not only have a huge impact on China's energy conservation and consumption reduction, but also will provide a huge market for the PCB industry.
