What are the methods of PCB connection? --Shenzhen Vip Circuit Co., Ltd.

PCB is the carrier of electronic components, and any electronic product needs to use PCB. Then, the PCB must be connected to other devices in the electronic product, which is the interconnection of the PCB. In general, PCB connections have three aspects: chip to PCB connections, PCB internal connections, and PCB connections to external devices.

1. The interconnection of chip and PCB

The problem of interconnecting the chip with the PCB is that the interconnect density is too high, which causes the basic structure of the PCB material to be a factor limiting the increase in interconnect density. The solution is to use a local wireless transmitter inside the chip to transfer data to an adjacent print circuit board (PCB).

2. PCB internal interconnection

The interconnections within the PCB are subject to these principles: use high performance PCBs, the insulation constant values are controlled hierarchically to manage the electromagnetic field. Avoid using leaded components and avoid using via processing on sensitive PCB because this process can result in lead inductance at the vias. Choose electroless nickel plating or immersion gold plating process to provide better skin effect for high frequency current.

 3. PCB external connection

1) Wire welding

Use wires to directly solder the external connection points on the PCB to the components or other components outside the board. No plug-in devices are required.

 2) Winding displacement welding

This method is often used for a 90 degree angle connection between two PCBs, which becomes an integral PCB component after connection.

3) PCB socket

This type of connection is often used in more complex instruments. The printed plug is made from the edge of the PCB, and the plug portion is designed according to the size of the socket, the number of contacts, the distance of the contacts, the position of the tool hole, etc., so as to match the dedicated PCB socket.

4) Standard pin connection

This method is suitable for use in small instruments where two PCBs are connected by standard pins, these two PCBs are generally parallel or perpendicular to each other.
